Campers live with their own age group (plus counselors) in comfortable
native stone, air-conditioned quarters with modern bathrooms. Younger girls live in the picturesque Lodge while older girls live in Indian Dwellings, Abrigo and Adobe. All buildings are aesthetically pleasing and well-maintained.

Meal times are happy times! Served family style, meals are plentiful, well-balanced and varied, fitting the needs and appetites of girls. Table assignments rotate weekly, increasing friendships between all ages. Spontaneous sing-alongs are frequent. Snack time following Siesta and evening milk line are daily favorites.

A resident nurse, a camp doctor who makes regular calls and safety=conscious counselors monitor the health and safety of campers. Heart O' the Hills is licensed by the Texas Department of Health and accredited by the American Camping Association. The Heart was selected one of America's Top 50 Camps by Richard Kennedy (Choosing the Right Camp, Random House, 1995). The Heart is a member of many camp-related organizations. The director and owners continually engage in professional growth seminars to provide the best in camping for the girls attending. |
