We have already set dates for next summer. It has been quite a ride last summer and this, with Texas legislating a uniform school start date, and the UIL (extracurricular activities governing body) not budging from the early August start for athletics and supporting activities, such as drill team and cheerleading. This has been agonizing to many of our teenaged campers, and in turn, for us. To make a long story short, we did a quick (and admittedly unscientific email survey of parents), and doing our best to meet everyoneТs concerns, came up with our plan. Most people strongly prefer weekend closing dates, even if it means a shortened term. And during our conversations with parents while marketing camp throughout the year, we keep hearing the call for even shorter sessions. While short terms of camp are not what we love, and not what we believe is the best "product", it is indeed the gateway to getting new campers "hooked on The Heart"!

That being said, we plan to offer two mini terms next summer, a miniature five-day one at the beginning and a short nine-day at the end of summer. Our two regular termsЧshortened a bit to accommodate weekend closingsЧwill fall in between. The new tiny term will not have tribes or an overnight campout. It is meant to introduce campers to specific activities and allow them to practice sleeping away from home in a camp environment. We hope that camper families who want longer terms can attend the "extended term" which combines two sessions.

Mini Term: Girls 6-10 (5 days)
Saturday, May 30 - Wednesday, June 3

First Term: Girls 6-16 (4 weeks)
Saturday, June 6 - Friday, July 3

Second Term: Girls 6-16 (3.5 weeks)
Thursday, July 9 - Saturday, August 1

Short Term: Girls 6-12 (9 days)
Friday, August 7 - Saturday, August 15

Summer Term: Girls 6-16 (7.5 weeks)
Saturday, June 6- Saturday, August 1

Fee may be adjusted to cost-of-living increase.
*Amount in parenthesis is for payment by check.
