We <3 Valentine's!

Valentine’s Day is “ancient history” in our fast-paced world, but since it is still The Month O’ Love, I wanted to put in a plug for my favorite secular holiday. I love Valentine’s!
I’ve always said that “every day is Valentine’s Day at the Heart O’ the Hills”, and Feb. 14 is just that one day of the year when everyone else joins in.
It’s the time of year that we find all kinds of fun purchases—tablecloths with hearts, picture frames, strings of lights, coffee mugs, wrappiheart-patrioticng and tissue paper, and every sort of heart-shaped and red item that our heart desires. And if we wait until a day or two after the date, we can usually procure these wonderful kitschy products at reduced prices!
As we celebrate Valentine’s on the 14th of June and the 14th of July, we like to provide some paper Valentines for our campers, too, so this is the time of year to round those up, too.
Even Dick and Jeepers get excited about shopping for Valentine items for us. This is how I know it’s a sickness.
But gosh, if you can’t overindulge in something as wholesome as hearts—then what is life for? 😉
