What is My Inspiration at Heart O’ the Hills?
There are many reasons that make Heart O’ the Hills a special paradise, but going to a new place or visiting an old place definitely has perks that can inspire you to be a better you. We often become inspired by acts, people and places, but inspiration to each and every person is different. However, when most of us think of inspiration we think of people who have done extraordinary things like celebrities, Jane Ragsdale, Thomas Edison, Martin Luther King, Jr and others.
While at The Heart, it’s so easily to be inspired by the smallest experience or simply being away from the “real world” and being at peace with yourself and nature. But, from my personal experience and after much thought about what my inspiration actually is at camp, I’m finally going to attempt to answer this question.
My inspiration at camp comes from seeing the little children with big hearts do amazing things. I had a long list of things that I had never done or that I was too afraid to do, but seeing the children at camp tackle their fears, accomplish new goals and interact with amazing staff members never ceases to amaze me. The joy of knowing that today the campers are trying something new inspires me to stroll around camp and also try something new. They inspire me to be a better person and to never let the fear of the unknown stop me from seeking new adventures.
The inspiration for me choosing to come back to camp for my third year lies within the heart of each camper. I’ve realized that age, status or accomplishments does not matter when it comes to who can inspire you, if you don’t believe me then meet me at The Heart to see for yourself.
Love,
