It’s the middle of May, your Program Director has finally arrived from the land of haggis and welly tossing, and camp is so close we can taste it!!! The past couple of weeks have involved a blur of forms, firming up calendars and making sure camp is in tip top condition for your arrival. Today it’s just a matter of counting down the minutes until we head to the airport to pick up our first round of international counselors – and we cannot wait for them to arrive! Next week marks the beginning of clinic week, where counselors go through hours and hours of training to get their certifications to teach all kinds of activities at camp, including swimming, life-guarding, horseback, archery, climbing, the list goes on and on!

Once all the certifications have been achieved, then it’s time for them to have a well deserved rest, but not for too long! (‘No sleep until August’ is the camp counselor motto after all.) Next Sunday evening we will have our entire staff on camp to begin counselor orientation. This is where the real fun begins, when counselors learn more about The Heart, it’s history and that super special sisterhood we all know and belong to. The week of counselor orientation is simply put, a week of welcoming more Heart girls into the family! After that, all we have to wait for is YOU!

Bonanza Extravaganza (Split B – dark clothing is all that’s needed for this event)

Around the World in 80 Minutes (Split B – if you have a country you want to represent go ahead and dress the part!)
We’re also bringing back the Talent Show (1st term – Split B, 2nd term – Split A) so if you have a special skill you want to share, be sure to bring your props along!
