I love my OLD friends

What a blessing to have friendships that span the decades!

I have two friends in particular that I met in my childhood at camp. We were all teenagers when we became close, and we have stayed in touch over the many years.Cmas cookies 023

This is the sixth consecutive year that we have gotten together near Christmastime to celebrate the season, exchange simple gifts, and catch up.

This year we had a shopping day, we sat by the fireplace, we cooked healthful food together, decorated cookies, went to church. It was so much fun!

Young people: when your brain and your knees start getting feeble and frail, it’s really nice having folks around who remember you from when you were young, clever, and quick.

Old people: isn’t it grand when you mention something about your granddad or your funny little sister, and your old friends remember it too? It’s a joyful experience!

Hoping your holidays are shaping up to be merry and not overly stressful! <3
