Meet our 2015 Head Staff

Every year we are blessed with a wonderful leadership from our Head Staff. This year I changed the roles around a little bit so that I have three Assistant Program Directors. It is fun to think that among the four of us we have over 40 years of camp experience. I’d like to introduce you to them so you know their friendly face behind the phone.

caetyn Caetyn Jones

Caetyn was a camper at the Heart for 10 summers, a Heart LITe for 3 summers, a counselor and sponsor for 1 summer, and Head O’ Field Sports last summer. Caetyn grew up in San Antonio. Her favorite camp activities as a camper were Quadrille, War Canoe, running field day, and seminar day (the best times were had on the challenge hike to Camp Stewart and the advanced canoe trip to Camp La Junta-of course, this had nothing to do with the cute boys at the destinations!). Caetyn enjoys jogging, yoga, painting, playing with her dog, and exploring the outdoors. She is a member of Chi Omega sorority and is President of Baylor University’s National Student Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Caetyn will graduate from Baylor University in May and pursue her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Texas Tech University Health Science Center in August. Caetyn is thrilled to have the opportunity to be Assistant Program Director this summer. She sincerely believes in the summer camp experience and wants to share with campers and staff members the remarkable adventures of Heart of the Hills!

Casey is currently a junior at the University of Mississippi majoring in Psychology with hopes of attending graduate school to receive her Master’s degree in Psychology and become a pediatric occupational therapist. She works at a preschool in Oxford, Mississippi where she teaches a class of 3 and 4 year olds every week. Casey was born and raised in Kerrville, Texas and  started going to Heart O’ the Hills at the age of 5, making this her 14th summer at the Heart. One of her favorite memories over the years was when she was a HeartLITe. On the last morning that they had to serve breakfast, they had a dance party in the dining hall at 6am with the kitchen staff and the junior servers. Her favorite part about working at camp is the ability to be a part of the eye-opening experience that makes our campers better human beings. She is returning this summer because she loves camp and is so excited to work on the Head Staff. In Casey’s words, “I am humbled and honored to have gone full circle in the camp world, starting as a young camper to a HeartLITe, to a Sponsor, to Assistant Program Director. I am looking forward to being able to be my fun and goofy self and to be able to escape to the serenity of Hunt, Texas!”

AldenAlden DeMoss

Alden was a camper for 8 years at the Heart and a counselor for two. Some of her fondest memories of being a counselor are with her cabins of the sweet, silly Midgets. Her love for the unique activities only offered at camp, the life lessons learned, and everlasting friendships she made during her time here are the reasons she can’t help but keep coming back. Alden attends Texas A&M University where she will receive a degree in Environmental Design with a minor in Art in 2016. During her time at A&M, Alden has been involved in Aggies Selflessly Serving in Shaping Tomorrow (ASSIST) and Fade to Black, a hip hop dance ensemble. In 2014, she spent the spring semester in Castiglion Fiorentino, Italy, studying architecture, film photography and the art of consuming massive amounts of gelato. She is excited to return to her home away from home for another amazing summer and is really looking forward to working with the incredible head staff!

And if you haven’t seen it yet… We can’t wait to shake off school and dance into summer!
