Prior to Opening Day, families will schedule a drop off time (see below). Upon arrival, camp families enter camp through the service gate, which is the wider entrance beyond our main gate.
From there, traffic directs into one of two lanes. Then, greeting our campers, is our crew of former camper volunteer RN’s. Temperatures are taken in the car. If a camper’s temperature is 100.4◦F or higher, her temperature will be re-checked in 30 minutes with a temporal thermometer. If the camper’s temperature is still 100.4◦F or higher, the camper will not be allowed to enter camp.
Next, campers will drop off any medicines and forms with the nurse.
Afterwards, cars will be directed to the meeting spots for their camper’s “pod”.
After campers and luggage are dropped off, their counselor will take them to get their perfunctory lice check (an opening day requirement) at their meeting spot, then head to get settled in their cabin!
While campers meet their counselors and spend time with their cabin, families will drop off luggage.
Luggage ( please limit to a trunk and a duffle) will be moved by some of our wonderful staff. So, parents will have no need for exiting their vehicle.
Finally, camp families can drop off any last minute packages or letters for later delivery before exiting the gates.
Our streamlined drop-off and pick-up process for Summer 2021 allows us to reduce exposure and health and safety at The Heart while delivering the same energy and excitement you expect during drop-off and pick-up at The Heart.
